It is a must for every parent to see to it that their babies are in perfect health. To be able to do that they should follow the vaccination guide given by the World Health Organization. Well- Off or can afford families preferred vaccines from their Pediatricians but those who are practical may avail vaccines from Health Centers.

Bella is already 5 months and 8 days old today and she is scheduled to have her last shot of DPT (Diphtheria,Pertussis, Tetanus), OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine), and Hepatitis B. As practical as I am ,I have decided to have her vaccinated at the health center near our place because it means saving more than P3,000.00. ;)

The vaccination went well though Bella had a mild fever but she is generally okay. I let her take a doctor prescribed Paracetamol every 6 hours. Bella's next vaccination schedule will be next month with PCV13 and shots of Rotavirus but those are no longer available in the Health Centers but be administered by her doctor.

There are still a lot of vaccines to be given but it is good to know that some are given free by the government through our barangay health centers.

Holy Week

This is the time where most Catholic believers spend time to reflect on how Jesus died on the cross to redeem us from sins. There are different ways of showing and giving back on what the Lord has done for us. Others do fasting and abstinence, attend station of the cross, visit churches, attend several church activities and many more.

As a Catholic, I used to join several church activities during holy week. Top activity for us during holy week is the "visita iglesia" or the church visitation wherein we roam around the city to visit churches. We also used to spend time in the church to hear the seven last words.

This holy week I can say that I am not that active in participating in any church activity. I wanted so much to attend but I can't leave home just that because I am breastfeeding Bella and if I bring her along I am anxious of exposing her in a place where there is a lot of people. I don't want to sound like making excuses but I believe that aside from doing the usual holy week activities I can show sacrifice in my own little way. I think that we don't have to wait for holy week to show atonement but we can actually do it every minute of everyday.

This holy week, I would like to thank the Lord for giving me His life. I would like to thank Him for giving us His unconditional love. I pray that He will cleanse and purify me and make me worthy to come before Him. I pray that He will give me the strenght to carry on my purpose in this world. Thank you Father for your great love.

Happy Easter everyone!

Pancit for Bella

Today is a very important day for me because my little girl is already 5 months old. I just can't believe how time flies for I can still recall that a year ago at exactly this day, I received a not so good news regarding my status at work which made me decide to fight for my right. Week after, our PT told us that we will be having a baby.

Gone are the difficult but happy pregnancy days for now I am savouring the "fruit of my labor" and that's to be with our baby every single day. It has been a family practice to prepare pancit during birthdays because it is believed to symbolize long life. I started doing this since Bella was one month old and I have been doing it ever since.

Today, mommy's pancit is extraordinarily delicious because it is shared with family and friends who is with us today for a vacation. Borit is also celebrating his 7-month old birthday today. Dinner was very exciting because it is a celebration of life of our little Bella.

Polishing my Resume

Homemaking has thought me a lot about life. Even before I got married, my dream career is really to become a full-time homemaker. It is because I believe that being a homemaker is one of the the hardest and the noblest career one can ever have. When I got pregnant with Bella I have decided to be a full-time homemaker. I got so excited thinking that my days will be so challenging and indeed it is especially when Bella came along.

There was a lot of sleepless nights because I need to breastfeed my little angel at least twice every night. During daytime when she is asleep, I need to do things in a haste for me to finish before she wakes up. That has been my routine for the past five months and I like it and already got used to it. I find comfort and joy seeing my little baby's progress everyday. This somehow made me decide to make homemaking my career for a year or two but opportunities come knocking on my door.

I have been informed by a friend that she will be opening a new business soon and she asked me if I'm interested to join her. Here comes another one looking for a Food Technologist / Consultant on the processing plant that they will be opening soon. I have been working for the past ten straight years since year 2000. Though I enjoyed the learning and earning of the corporate life I can't say I missed it because I am contented and fulfilled in my present career as a homemaker however I still wanted to give those opportunities a glance.

I have already experienced the best of both worlds separately and now I want to try experiencing it altogether. For that reason, I am polishing my resume for it to be updated. Who knows I might bump into a much greater opportunity. God willing:)

Simple Pleasures

Life is indeed so good to me and my family. This is not because we are financially and materially rich but it is because we are spritually rich having a grateful heart to enjoy life's simple pleasures. We find joy in every little things that God has bestowed on us as a family.

Just this afternoon, my aunt and cousins from North Cotabato has arrived and will be staying with us for a few days to attend thier son's / brother's college graduation on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Though we are not prepared for their arrival, the family decided to bring them to the beach nearby to unwind and also to have dinner by the beach.

Everybody had fun and enjoyed the simple dinner having grilled pork and fish with cucumber, soft steamed rice and bottles and bottles of RC Cola. God is really good to us for letting us enjoy and cherish simple things in life.
